55 CAFE AND RESTAURANT, PENANG

Housed in Coffee Atelier and located in the heart of Georgetown, a UNESCO World Heritage-listed city, 55 Cafe and Restaurant offers a Mediterranean-inspired menu in a relaxing and informal environment.
We specially made a visit there as we were curious to try out their gourmet coffee - apparently the only cafe in Penang currently offering 3D coffee art.

Unfortunately, the barista that did the 3D coffee art had popped out for a break, so we waited for about 45 minutes before all our orders arrived.
Whilst waiting, we had a wander round the back...

I ordered a mocha whilst Cherlyn and Joanna ordered hot chocolate drinks. Each of our drinks came with different animal 3D art.

Took a sneaky snapshot of someone else's coffee at the counter, teehee.

The 3D art was interesting, and there's something about the feel and ambience of old heritage buildings that I really like.
It was only a short visit, so I'll probably be back again on my next trip home to Penang - for more coffee and maybe even try some of their tapas dishes.
